La Salle lands in paradise.

We were pleased with our opening win against Morgan State because they are a very good, if not well known, team that will win 20 games and be in the NCAA Tournament or the N.I.T. this season.

We are extremely disappointed in our loss to Florida State. Our student support was awesome – thanks everyone. We outplayed them most of the game but mental lapses did us in. We need to move beyond those to be a postseason team – which is our goal.

We are off to the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands. These trips are attractive to recruits and take us to special locations that our players will always remember. They also provide valuable neutral court matchups against great opponents who may not be willing to come play us at Gola Arena.

GAME 1 – Connecticut: They are ranked #2 in the nation. Enough said. This is another great challenge and opportunity.

GAME 2- Miami or Southern Mississippi – Miami is ranked (fill in ranking) and Southern Miss. S picked to finish fifth n a good Conference USA this year. They remind me of us: Coach Eustacy finally has an experienced roster of his own and are rising in a good conference.

GAME 3: Wisconsin (Big 10 power), San Diego (WCC Champs/NCAA Tournament), Valparaiso (a perennial March Madness team) or Iona A vastly improved team with high level transfers).

We have chosen a very challenging early schedule that will either get us off to a great start or create improvement for a run I December and the Atlantic 10. It's a long season and we are determined to make it special.
