La Salle has added Rohan Brown, an all-state player from Connecticut, to its freshman recruiting class.

Brown, who averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds as a senior at East Catholic High in Manchester, has enrolled in classes and will play this season.

“We were able to see Rohan play numerous times during the July evaluation period,” Explorers coach John Giannini said of the 6-6, 205-pounder. “He brings toughness, consistent effort, rebounding, defense and finishing ability. He has a big upside as he further develops his perimeter skills.”

Brown joins D.J. Peterson, Jerrell Wright and Steve Zack in the Explorers’ freshman class.

“We were looking for an A-10 athlete with a high motor, good potential and strong character who would be a good teammate,” Giannini said. “That describes Rohan and we are happy to welcome him to La Salle.”

He was the MVP of the annual Connecticut High School Coaches Association All-Star game and earned All-Central Connecticut North honors.

Brown averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds as a junior to earn honorable mention all-state recognition.
