Former 'Nova assistant Chambers new coach at PSU

Former Villanova assistant coach Pat Chambers has been named the new head basketball coach at Penn State. Chambers has been the head coach at Boston University the past 2 years. The BU website first confirmed the hiring.

Chambers, of Episcopal Academy and Philadelphia University, replaces Ed DeChellis, who surprisingly left Penn State for Navy. Chambers led the Terriers to their first America East title and NCAA Tournament in nine seasons this year. BU lost to Kansas in the second round.

Chambers was 42-28 at BU.

"I'm looking forward to bringing passion, energy and enthusiasm to Nittany Lion basketball," Chambers said in a statement. "We will play a style, and bring an attitude, that Nittany Nation can be proud of."
