While nothing is official yet, it appears that Villanova could be getting close to adding another basketball player to its roster.
Sources familiar with the situation have indicated that 6-4 guard Mislav Brzoja, of Croatia, could be joining the Wildcats by the time classes start late next month.
He would be eligible to play immediately.
Villanova will play Purdue in the 2K Sports Classic on Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden.
In the other semifinal of the tournament, Alabama will play Oregon State. The consolation game and championship game will be played Nov. 16. The semifinals and title game will be shown on ESPN2. The consolation game will be on ESPNU.
The tournament benefits the Wounded Warrior Project.
Former Penn basketball player Koko Archibong will participate in the Summer Olympics as a member of the Nigeria basketball team.
Archibong is believed to be the first Penn basketball player to play in the Olympics, according to the university.
Archibong was a 4-year letterwinner and started 99 games at Penn. He was the captain of the 2002-03 team with Andy Toole. Archibong ended his Quakers career with 1,131 points, 504 rebounds, 110 assists, 76 steals and 59 blocked shots.
