Will Smith and son Jaden, who starred in "The Karate Kid" remake, are in the area meeting with director M. Night Shyamalan.

The Smiths are slated to co-star in an untitled sci-fi film that Shyamalan will direct. The film is set 1,000 years from now. Jaden will play a young boy on an abandoned planet, with Will playing his dad, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The pair previously played father and son in "The Pursuit of Happyness."

Yesterday Shyamalan was spotted location-scouting at the old 3M Factory in Bristol, where he shot "Lady in the Water" in 2005. We hear that Will Smith is expected to check out the location later this week.

"Jaden will play a young boy . . . with Will playing his dad." Wow, talk about a couple of real method actors.

Sounds like another M Night movie flop is in the works. Maybe this one will go straight to DVD.
