WMMR calls Ozzy's label over Kidd Chris prank

POSTED: Friday, January 11, 2008, 1:59 PM
93.3 WMMR called Epic Records yesterday to tell them that “their artist was being portrayed in an unflattering light," confirmed ‘MMR Program Director Bill Weston when we asked about the station’s response to an interview with an Ozzy Osbourne impersonator on 94 WYSP’s Kidd Chris show in which Fake Ozzy trashes WMMR. We’re told Real Ozzy’s people later complained to ‘YSP about the prank after the record company was contacted by WMMR. Fake Ozzy’s British accent disappeared occasionally and his least offensive barb against WMMR said if he had to do another lame interview on ‘MMR he’d go back on drugs. Kidd Chris and ‘YSP management offered no comment asked if Ozzy’s people had contacted the station to complain about the prank. Real Ozzy played last night at the Wachovia Spectrum in a show co-sponsored by WMMR.

wmmr, wip, smerconish, kyw newsradio, probably something on the disney kids station...should i keep going? if their show is so great, why resort to unfunny insults toward the competition? it's the oldest radio trick in the book. no one's listening? do something controversial to get some attention. lame.

They don't "resort" to "unfunny" insults... They do them because they are hilarious.. Rock Hard Killa's interview with Pierre was classic, asking him about getting "man relish" in his hair.. You keep listening to that other garbage, "metlhed", you obviously don't get the show.. so don't listen..

"man relish"...that's comic genius. it's a wonder why "hard rock killa" isn't doing standup somewhere. there's probably a reason why everyone from the real ozzy to bon jovi and a ton of other musicians respect pierre for what he's meant to rock radio in philly and their careers. he's a real dj in the old-school sense, not a wanna-be comedian.

While I have to say that Pierre is a clown, Preston and Steve are bigger clowns.

I was honestly fooled even though it was so outlandish. It sounded a lot like him, but still was crazy. I wonder if Preston and Steve are crying in their ice cream they promote every 2 mins. WAAAAWOOKS!!!

I've always hated these type of talk shows, but Kid Chris' show makes me laugh so hard. That Mr. Crowley bit was hilarious, and so was Brad the Cripples Assburger interview and Chris actually seems like a good down to earth guy. I'm somewhat hooked. Fallets.

I wonder how many times they called up when Stern did the bit? Preston and Steve are feeling the heat and are starting to show their true colors of being whiny and unable to take any kind of criticism or competition. Gadzooks, indeed.
