WIP to announce takeover of 94 WYSP, new line-up tomorrow
Expect 610 WIP's Angelo Cataldi to announce what we reported two weeks ago, that the sports talk station will take over the FM signal of 94 WYSP on Sept. 6. Cataldi will also reveal the new line-up for WIP, including who will take over Howard Eskin's 3 to 7 shift.

Expect 610 WIP's Angelo Cataldi to announce what we reported two weeks ago, that the sports talk station will take over the FM signal of 94 WYSP on Sept. 6.
We hear the announcement will come toward the end of Thursday's morning show and that Cataldi will also reveal the new line-up for WIP, including who will take over the 3 to 7 shift that Howard Eskin is leaving, and additional changes.
While WIP will be celebrating the move to FM, which allows it to have a stronger signal and reach more, and especially younger, listeners, it will be a sad day at WYSP where staffers will learn they won't be working after Labor Day.
Staff at the rock station has been called to an 8:30 meeting Thursday morning.
When we reported about WIP's takeover of WYSP two weeks ago station management would not confirm nor deny our information.
The website 94WIP.com is already live and redirects to 610 WIP's site.
We will update this post as more information becomes available.
UPDATE: As we Tweeted earlier, we're told that Comcast SportsNet's Michael Barkann will be part of the new lineup hosting 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Ike Reese while Glen Macnow and Anthony Gargano move to a 1 to 6 p.m. slot.
Rob Ellis will host from 6 to 10 p.m. unless a live game is broadcast instead.
UPDATE: After making nice for a few minutes on air with Howard Eskin, at exactly 9:41 a.m. Angelo Cataldi announced the switch to SportsRadio 94 WIP, excited for increased signal, said he and Al Morganti have wanted an FM signal for years.

- Sounds like all CBS is going to do is rearrange the deck chairs of the Titanic.I dont thin WIP's poor ratings were due to the AM signal but rather the poor outdated content and staff.

- Well, this stinks. I, for one, enjoy listening to Danny Bonaduce and find him to be a fun way to begin the day. I also enjoy listening to WYSP mix of music. Not everyone in the world needs to be preached to hour after hour after hour. Sometimes it is just nice to have some RADIO music playing in the background.
