Businessman Tom Knox, who placed second in the 2007 mayoral race, has been telling friends he intends to run for governor in 2014. On Friday night, Knox was spotted dining with Mayor Nutter and Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey at the Union League.

We asked Knox about the nature of their conversation.

"When running for political office, it's always good to build constituencies," he wrote by email.

OK, so does that mean you're running for governor, we asked.

"It is currently my intention to run, but I am not announcing at this time," Knox said.

I went into one of those 2007 debates fully expecting to end up supporting Knox. Then I realized he had nothing. Just went up and said reform a lot. He's not getting elected to anything.

How many times is he going to run for office, waste millions of his own dollars before he comes to the conclusion that no one wants to elect him to any office?

Let's hope the anyone but Corbett feelings continue for another two years. We can't get that man out of Harrisburg fast enough. I am hopeful the Penn State crowd will not forget what he did with the Sandusky case. That should be enough to get him out.

So in order to be Governor, you have to carry Phila. and or Pitts. This guy couldnt even win a local election in a City that he needs to carry to be governor. So, what makes him think that people who didnt want him as Mayor would want him as Governor?
TIme to get a real job and give up on the political ambitions. Maybe you can move out of the city into the suburbs and win a school board election or something. Have to start small.

I used to love his commercials when he was running for Mayor: "I grew up in Philadelphia's public housing, and there is one sound from my childhood I'll never forget. The sound of my mother crying herself to sleep at night because she didn't have enough to feed my brothers and me".
