Spike Eskin is the new program director on SportsRadio WIP. He replaces Jeff Sottolano who was named director of programming for CBS RADIO late last year.

Eskin currently hosts a weekly talk show on WIP and acts as a sports anchor on KYW Newsradio. Eskin is no stranger to program directing gig. He served as assistant program director at WYSP before the station was booted from the air in favor of switiching WIP to the FM dial.

In a memo to employees, WIP operations manager Andy Bloom said that Eskin has been serving as an interim program director while he talked to "big name program directors whose names you undoubtedly know."

Bloom praised Eskin's passion, his creative mind and understanding of the digital future. He even referenced Eskin's recent Heimlich maneuvering skills that saved morning show host Angelo Cataldi's life. "Spike has earned my respect and trust and thus has taken this job," Bloom wrote.
