"Soup Nazi" from "Seinfeld" serves soup Saturday.

Yes, soup for you!

Larry Thomas, who played the Soup Nazi on "Seinfeld," serves up soup from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the newly opened Doc's Gourmet Soup (169 W. Girard).

Thomas, who you may also remember as the blackjack dealer in "Austin Powers," is proud of how closely identified he is with the Soup Nazi character.

"I live in a community of journeymen, working actors who have been doing it for 30 years, like I have," Thomas says. "It's kinda cool to have something like that. Even if I had tried to get away from it, I could not."

Thomas says that it takes a real "Seinfeld" fan to recognize him when he's cleanshaven, but when he has a mustache, people stare.

"Wayne Knight, who played Newman, lives near me, and I've bumped into him a few times at the market and people think it's funny to see Newman and the Soup Nazi standing there talking," Thomas told us by phone.

The actor sells autographed Soup Nazi photos and "No soup for you!" soup ladles at his website, soupnazi.tv.

Brooklyn-born Thomas says that his favorite soup has always been New England clam chowder.

He's excited about "Stork," an animated film he completed, as well as "For Robbing the Dead," a Western he recently wrapped that co-stars Margot Kidder, Barry Corbin and Edward Herrmann. Thomas is also looking forward to meeting "Seinfeld" fans who come to buy soup from him Saturday afternoon.
