Soldiers share story of hanging with Todd Herremans

Soldiers chats about hanging with Herremans

In today's column, I talk about how injured Eagle Todd Herremans invited some soldiers to hang with him while he watched the Eagles poach the Panthers on Monday night. Unfortunatley, my tipster didn't know the names of the soldiers but thankfully one of the soldiers reached out to let me know that the group included Specialist Anestazia Hernandez, Specialist  Monica HallSergeant Michael StancavageStaff Sergeant Angel MendezSpecialist Lauren O'Donnell, Staff Sergeant Matthew Langdon and Sergeant Angel Ponce. They are all from the Philly region, all Eagles diehards and all stationed with at the Horsham Air Gaurd Station with the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division.

The soldier (who asked not to be singled out by name) told me that as soon as they were ushered up to the empty box, Herremans saw the men and women in uniform through the glass. "We all filed into his suite and shook hands with him and his family. (They were very appreciative of our service and they could not stop saying thank you)," the soldier wrote in an email. "Once everyone met Todd and shook his hand (his good hand), he then told us that anything we want was on his tab, go and enjoy ourselves."

He also told me that Herremans and his fam (including his mom, Marilee Herremans), hung out with them throughout the game, "cheering along with us just like any normal Eagles fan would."
