Lucy, beloved golden retriever of 93.3 WMMR DJ Pierre Robert - a pooch met and petted by rock stars that included Judas Priest, Bon Jovi and Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders - died Friday of multiple organ failure. She was 13 1/2 and lived in Gladwyne.
The dog had become a station mascot of sorts in recent years, Robert said last night.
He began taking her to work when she began having orthopedic issues a few years ago. She had chiropractic, acupuncture and water-therapy treatments over the years and last week fell very ill, Robert said.
"Dogs are magical creatures. The sad thing is that they don't live terribly long," Robert said.
"Every cliche you ever hear, man's best friend, she was all that and more. She lived a great life."
RIP dear companion. All animals are magical creatures as they have direct and constant contact with source energy. She transitioned but she's not gone. You'll have easy access to her when you think of her. tulipwalk
sorry for your loss Pierre... BordentownUfan
Pierre is one of the kindest, most professional people in the radio business. I would know. Lol the man has a level of class and sophistication rarely seen these days, and his bond with the great city of Philadelphia runs deep. Very sorry for your loss, Pierre. Losing a friend is not easy. My deepest condolences. -Kannon, Wired 96.5 KannonWired965
Pierre, Just heard you on the radio talking about Lucy. I had tears in my eyes. I had the pleasure of meeting Lucy at the campout for hunger many times, a few times you had me walk her around with you while you signed autographs. You were blessed to have Lucy for a friend. She will always be in our hearts. Remember all dogs go to HEAVEN!! kdaley
The Rainbow Bridge Poem
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I've talked with Pierre at 'MMR a few times. He always came off as a great guy. As a pet lover who has lost far too many, all I can offer is that dogs live for such a short time in order for us to love many of them in our lives. WilliamWT
