Kacie McDonnell no longer engaged to Aaron Murray

Former Fox 29 traffic reporter Kacie McDonnell is no longer engaged to Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback Aaron Murray. McDonnell moved from Philadelphia to Kansas City to be with Murray.

Former Fox 29 traffic reporter Kacie McDonnell is no longer engaged to Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback Aaron Murray. McDonnell moved from Philadelphia to Kansas City, where she has a job as a traffic reporter at the local NBC affiliate, to be with Murray in August. The former couple started dating in 2013.

"I'm loving my career in Kansas City," McDonnell told me, confirming that Murray ended their engagement. "I’m really committed to being a part of this community for the time being. The engagement is off. I wish him the best, it’s best to part ways. I’m moving on with my life."

Throughout our conversation, McDonnell reiterated her love for Philadelphia, saying her heart is always here.

As of a few weeks ago, the engagement seemed to be going well, with McDonnell and Murray looking for wedding venues in Philadelphia, including the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, according to an Instagram photo McDonnell posted, which has since been deleted.

Murray's brother, Josh, also recently went through a high profile break up, ending his engagement with "Bachelorette" star Andi Dorfman earlier this months. The couple met on the show last season.
