Baby Mama Drama: Reds' star Brandon Phillips in Family Court
Cincinnatti Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips spent Thursday morning in Family Court battling one of his baby mamas, a local woman with whom he has a 4-year-old daughter. He has another child with a woman in Buffalo. Phillips, who was selected as a reserve in tomorrow's MLB All-Star Game, and Danielle Daluisio had a casual relationship in 2006 that resulted in a daughter, Micole Malia Phillips. Phillips has seen the child a total of five days in four years according to Daluisio's lawyer, Lynne Gold-Bikin, chairwoman of Weber Gallagher's family-law division. Thursday's hearing set dates in August for a child-support hearing and November for a custody hearing.

Daluisio, who receives $5,000 per month from Phillips for the child, is seeking a significant increase in child support from the baller, who signed a 4-year, $27 million contract with the Reds in 2008. Daluisio, 27, who works in school administration and has an internship with the NCAA, has primary custody of the child and seeks to establish more strict visitation conditions for Phillips, 29, such as preventing him from exposing the child to other women, according to Gold-Bikin. An attorney for Phillips declined to comment on the situation, and a Reds spokesman did not get back to us.

He is baseball's Shawn Kemp. mick314
Another baby factory trapping a man and then bilking him for all the money she can get. 60K a year tax free isn't enough? Most families don't clear 60K a year, she is just a gold digger, this isn't about the child, she is just using the kid as a pawn in her real game. AsValidAsYours
$5,000 isn't enough, no sympathy for this pig. Lcrest
seriously asvalidasyours? is that a serious statement? a father sees his kid 5 days in the 1460 that its been alive, and you blame the mother? i wonder where these stereotypes come from. rk248047
Hey, people making a lot less money than Phillips have to part with 60 grand a year for child support.. I'm calling that a bargain.. the best he ever had.. I will say though that if she never wants the kid exposed to another woman, she should agree to the same condition with men when she has custody. drbob1
I bet I could describe EXACTLY what AsValidAsYours looks like and believes...but some would say it isn't politically correct (and hint, hint, it doesn't involve race---LOL).... will_wonders_never_cease
Again, I think we tend to lose sight of the big picture. Money is only a small part of the equation. Two more kids growing up without their father because he makes babies and then makes tracks. The question of why society has so many problems is answered by guys like Brandon Phillips. syddan26
unfortunately child support cases are often about power and money.. and not really about the best interest of the child.. that best interest part really is a joke... the woman gets $5K a month for a 4 year old child... what type of lifestyle is she trying to live off of her child? she got pregnant to have a child so she could cash in.. gold digger.. and these athletes are idiots for not being smart about their activities.. clinoril

Box of condoms: $6.99 Child support: $60k annually, perhaps much more Not doing the math until after the fact: PRICELESS Speakingtruth
I think he can pay a little more, $15000/month should do it. notch44
Comment removed.- Works and has an internship? Not typical 'gold digger' behavior. And, if dad is making nearly $7-M/yr why shouldn't his daughter live like she is his daughter?
5,000 a month is more than enough to take care of a child of 4. I know families who don't bring that home in a month. Looking at both sides he may have not wanted the child and felt trapped when she continued with the pregnancy. There are lots of golddiggers going after these men and wil get pregnant for a free ride. She's looking for an increase to take care of herself and not the child. epiphany1

What's the deal with protecting the child from other women? Are women innately injurious to children? Why not protect the child from other men mother might see? Seems like reverse sexism to me; and like someone's trying to follow the Elin Nordigren playbook a little too closely. Maceo
