Alycia benched until 2008, CBS3 confirms

 
Troubled anchor Alycia Lane ­– arrested yesterday on charges of punching a New York cop in Lower Manhattan – won’t return to the CBS3 airwaves until 2008, a station representative confirmed today.

 

Lane, 35, who was scheduled to vacation next week until the end of the year “won’t be on air this week so she can deal with all of this,” station spokeswoman Joanne Calabria told Daily News reporter Regina Medina this morning.

 

Also, Calabria said, the CBS 3 news team will cover Lane’s arrest on charges of assault with intent to cause physical injury to an officer – her lawyer says the high-profile news anchor was “accosted” by plainclothes individuals, cops says they identified themselves – during today’s 12 noon, 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts.

    Interesting,i wonder too, how they will cover, She does not have a case since they GOT OUT of the cab and approached the cops.... in NYC?? is he insane or drunk one, sounds to me road rage in a cab, that Chris Booker guy is outta his mind!!! Maybe she got caught up in a Chris Booker "self-importance" moment, one thing for sure this is gonna COST HER!!! The DA in NY is gonna make them an example!!
