Alycia Lane files court papers against CBS3

Updated with New Information 1/31

Alycia Lane filed a praecipe to issue writ of summons, typically a precursor to a lawsuit, against CBS3 Tuesday in Common Pleas Court. Lane, and her attorney Paul Rosen, have requested to depose CBS3 President Michael Colleran and News Director Susan Schiller. The legal filing also asks for Lane's CBS3 personnel file as well as any documents related to her Jan. 7 termination and any documents that reference her ex-husbands Dino Calandriello, Jay Adkins, as well as Dr. Phil McGraw, on whose show she cried, Prince Albert of Monaco, whom the New York Post's Page Six reported she had flirted with, and of course Rich Eisen, the married NFL Network anchor to whom Lane e-mailed bikini pics of herself, therefore upsetting his wife Suzy Shuster. Any documents pertaining to Shuster are also being sought by Lane.

Lane and attorney Rosen have also asked for any documents or personnel files pertaining to the firing by CBS3 of "any other anchor or reporter of Latina descent, African-American descent or the descent of any other minority group." Could Lane, dubbed the "Latina Bombshell" by the People Paper's Stu Bykofsky in 2003, be playing the race card?

A call to Rosen was not immediately returned, nor were messages left for a CBS3 spokeswoman.

Lane's termination of course was related to a Dec. 16 incident, first reported here, in which Lane was alleged to have assaulted a New York Police Department officer and called her a "f---ing dyke." She faces hearing April 3 in New York. Through her criminal attorney David Smith, Lane has denied these charges.

Though Lane's filing lists her address as the Lanesborough Apartments, at 1601 Locust St., she doesn't live there. Rosen said the address was a mistake and will be corrected. He also said the filing issued to CBS 3 asks for station president Colleran to be deposed Feb. 20 and for News Director Schiller the following day.

"We've seen the filing," said CBS 3 spokeswoman Joanne Calabria. "There is nothing new here. We believe we made our position on this matter clear in our previous statements." The station's Jan. 7 announcement of Lane's firing said that as she had become the news so many times, it would be impossible for her to continue to report the news.

I think that everyone needs to mind their own business and stop riding this lady. Probably most people reading this have much more to hide than her, except for the fact that no one cares about what's going on with you like they do with Miss. Lane.

This is ridiculous,Her dismissal by CBS3 has nothing to do with race or ethnic background! It has everything to do with STUPID choices and a bitchy attitude!! If this is is all her HIGH PRICED attorney is banking on, all I have to say is "Alycia,save your money,go home,limit your damages and let Booker ease your wounds!

Oh, come on, how is playing the race card even an option? She got canned because she became the news instead of just reporting it. Her behavior made her a liability. There is absolutely zero merit to any wrongful termination lawsuit.... I think she just plans to be a nuisance to the station until they throw some money at her to make her shut up and go away. Which is a pretty dumb thing to do, if she ever wants to work in the industry again.

Alycia, Judy and I sent you a letter on January 12th and wanted to know if you received it. In our letter we cited John 8: 1-11. We assumed that your not responding to any mail until after April 3rd, which is totally understandable. Innocent until proven guilty is in criminal court, not in civil court. And her contract probably doesn't require a conviction before the station is free to cut her loose, say, for drinking and driving around NYC and getting into scrapes with police. She's a skeezer. Good riddance.

From the NY Post today... Friend To Feline ALYCIA Lane is kinder to animals than she is to the NYPD. The fired Philadelphia TV anchor rode to the rescue of boyfriend Chris Booker's 11-year-old cat, Puddy, the other day after the kitty's legs went limp. She whisked Puddy off to the vet and the feline is doing fine. Meanwhile, Lane yesterday sued her former station over her Jan. 7 dismissal following a foul-mouthed homophobic attack on a NYPD cop.

Gail, I'm sure that her motive is all about the big pay day. She's worried to death about it I'm sure....forget about April 3rd. You mentioned the new Mayor. Why don't you cut the man a break? He's only been in for 1 month and you can't expect him to perform miracles. Look at what he's up against. God Bless him for even wanting to be Mayor of Philadelphia. I looked up the word "Nutter" in the dictionary and it's defined as one who gathers nuts. I hope that he does.
