With the World Series win we asked Kurt Laufer, who last summer collected online signatures at FireUncleCharlie.com for the Phillies to dump Charlie Manuel, if he wanted to apologize to the skipper. He did, and he's also done so on his primary website Girls of Philly, which is not safe for work unless your job is cool with you looking at topless women.

”While I’d like to take a little credit for the turn-around that occurred just after we launched the site last summer (and consequently took down immediately once they started winning last August), I’d like to formally apologize to Charlie, his family, and any of his supporters over the years, says Laufer. “I’m considering a new Web site, “SignHimtoaLifelongContract.com”….he’s earned it,” says Laufer. “The players rallied around this guy, we’ve always thought he was a good man, and I’m grateful that he’s brought a championship to Philadelphia ! God Bless Charlie Manuel!”

Dan, you meant to write "apologizes to Manuel." Or, if you really wanted to keep it the way you have it, write "Fire Uncle Charlie site owner: Apologies to Manuel." So it's like a quote. Seriously, edit your work. PHILLIES!

Paddywhack's on 2nd and South had become electric. It was palpable. The victory, the "W" we all wanted was so close, so very close that for many it wasn't a matter of if, but when. "When" took forever it seemed. In the middle of this sea of red hats, hatred for Joe Buck and $4.25 Miller Lite (REALLY?) we stood, waiting for this powder keg to erupt. And then...Strike Three. Screaming, jumping, spraying beer, hugging everyone within arms length - this was our World Series, this was our Championship. No more "also ran", no more "Curse of Billy Penn" (Thanks for letting it go BP), we are world champions. Champagne along South Street, embracing the masses on Broad, an American Flag draped on one of our compatriots -- U-S-A. indeed. Things are getting hazy, but still screaming at the top of our lungs. Ears burn from the cold, but we press on. World Champions press on. 100 Seasons, 28 Years, Too Long. Off to Nodding Head. Two pitchers please. Two pitchers gone. Countless songs sung at the top of our lungs. More high fives. Getting hungry now. Makeshift pasta feast. Amazing. No voice. So tired. Enjoying every second of the coverage. Joe Buck is consoling Tim McCarver somewhere and tonight...tomorrow...for a long time to come...we're champions. Lost my rally towel though. F@#K!

Your welcome Dan. Admit it, you need the likes of us, if for no other reason than to conduct grammar proofing on your work while those big ham hands of yours roll up that Marshall's bought dress shirt and you contemplate what other stories you can lift from TMZ or WWTDD.
