NBC 10 anchor Lori Delgado ran from the newsroom in tears yesterday morning which we are told was possibly related to having read in our column that her former colleague Vince DeMentri finally would be discussing his departure from the station with an Inquirer columnist. That interview could shed light on whatever DeMentri was alleged to have done to the married Delgado, with whom he once enjoyed a particularly close friendship. An NBC 10 spokeswoman declined to comment on Delgado's abrupt departure from the newsroom, saying that the station does not discuss matters of personnel. Delgado did not return an e-mail we sent her yesterday.

She strikes me as a genuinely nice person. She's probably sending her resume to some midwest station right now so she can be around a more decent class of co-workers and media.

Picking on Lori Delgado is like kicking a puppy. Not cool.

I highly doubt she was reading your column. Maybe her dog died.

I have to agree with JD...the likelihood she read your column is right up there with the likelihood of you going to the gym. Oh and hey, looks like you got bumped off top billing on the Arts & Entertainment home page. Uh oh, that can't be good. I heard the Des Moines Colonial Times is looking for a gossip reporter. "My sources tell me that local celebrity Bobby "Six Fingers" Mason will be signing autographs at the Des Moines County Fair."

I agree its lame to report on Lori crying. That said, I don't have a lot of sympathy for her. She's married and she cheated with another married man. There doesn't seem to be much sympathy for Vince. Regardless if you like him or not. And personally, I'm interested in hearing his side of the story. I'm having a hard time believing he keyed her car. I think theres a ton more to this story. And maybe Lori was crying because what Vince will say, might turn the glare of shame on her. Remember the saying about "A WOMAN SCORNED"

"This reporter learned, by reliable intel, that Booger Dupree has still not returned Hee-Haw Season 3 to Jimmy Peabody (Yes, THE Jimmy Peabody, who's a greeter at Wal-Mart). Both will be line-dancing at The Loft tonight. Sparks will be a-flyin' y'all."
