North Philly native Bill Cosby will release a hip-hop CD "Cosby Narratives Vol.1: State of Emergency," next month, which blends Cosby's comedy with a hip-hop and jazz soundtrack, the Associated Press reports. Cosby however won't be rapping himself on the CD. That's a shame. "Dad is Great. Give us Chocolate Cake" could be a big hit. Cosby told the AP that his album, assembled by Bill "Spaceman" Patterson, is "the opposite" of rap with profanity and misogyny and instead espouses "The value of an education. The value of respecting one's self." The CD, Cosby says, is a companion to his 2007 best-selling book "Come on, People: On the Path from Victims to Victors." The 70-year-old Temple alum plans another hip-hop CD and "the next one will be even more cheerleading," he told the AP.

Byron
Great to see him smiling and doing comedy again! He was really scary when he tried to be the moral leader of the black community. He seemed out of touch and bitter. Comedy is his thing and he should stick to it!
