Brewertyown entrepreneurs help keep neighborhood pool open

A little more about the Jacksons, the fledgling entrepreneurs featured in today's Inquirer who are helping to keep their neighborhood pool open this summer ... Rebecca, a Cincinatti native, moved to Philadelphia 11 years ago, after graduating from Howard University. Kenny grew up in Mount Airy, and is a graduate of Hampton University. One day when Kenny needed eyeglasses, his frat brother recommended a shop in Cheltenham, where Rebecca waited on him. Kenny reappeared weeks later, allegedly needing more glasses. Once, he even brought his mother to Rebecca's store. "I had to get mom to check her out," he chuckles. He eventually worked up the courage to ask Rebecca out. Seven years married, Rebecca laughs, "and he hasn't bought a pair of glasses since."
