Hamels update

Cole Hamels and Charlie Manuel both said that the lefty will make his scheduled start Thursday in Washington, barring some unforeseen disaster. Hamels told me 20 minutes ago that his elbow feels fine the day after starting, as it has for weeks. Read more

Ruiz on DL, Marson recalled

The Phillies have placed catcher Carlos Ruiz on the 15-day DL with a right oblique strain. C Lou Marson, already in Denver, was officially recalled from triple A. A team source has confirmed to the Inquirer that Lou Marson is en route to Denver. No decision has been made on whether to place Ruiz on the DL, but Marson will be ready and present if needed. Read more
