Phillies trade Escalona to Houston for second baseman

Monday, January 10, 2011, 12:51 PM
The Phillies found a suitor for lefthanded reliever Sergio Escalona, who was designated for assignment Saturday, and it is a familiar one. Escalona was traded to the Houston Astros for minor-league second baseman Albert Cartwright. Ed Wade, of course, is Houston's general manager. And he was the GM... Read more

What is Kendrick worth?

Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 12:41 PM
Beginning Wednesday, eligible players may file for arbitration. Over the next 10 days, there are two Phillies who will do just that -- Ben Francisco and Kyle Kendrick. Each side exchanges salary figures on Jan. 18. A quick primer on the process: Filing for arbitration, of course, does not guarantee... Read more

Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 3:37 PM
There is little left to happen in the 41 days before Phillies pitchers and catchers report to Clearwater. Any day now, J.C.
