As expected, the Phillies will offer Jayson Werth arbitration before tonight's midnight deadline. They will not offer Chad Durbin arbitration.

Werth, a Type A free agent, will net the Phillies two draft picks if he signs elsewhere. He will likely not accept the one-year arbitration unless the market for him completely collapses in the next seven days.

So, yeah, that's unlikely. Durbin, a Type B free agent, can still negotiate with the Phillies, but this decision shows the team isn't willing to offer much of a raise from Durbin's 2010 salary of $2.125 million.
