My Lord, spring training is just three months away.

Pitchers and catchers report Feb. 14 with everybody reporting Feb. 17. Spring training starts earlier in 2009 because of the World Baseball Classic, which runs March 5 through March 23.

The Phillies play 18 Grapefruit League games next spring at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla. Two of the games will be against a WBC team. The Clearwater schedule begins February 26 vs. Toronto and ends April 2 vs. Washington. In addition to the 18 home games, the Phillies will play 16 games on the road. Game times are yet to be finalized and the schedule is subject to change. Ticket information will be announced later.

The Phillies play the Tampa Bay Rays in the On-Deck Series April 3 (7:05 p.m.) and April 4 (1:05 p.m.) at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies open the regular season at home April 5 against Atlanta. The game will be nationally televised at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN2. Opening Day for the Phillies had been scheduled for April 6. Due to the opener being moved to Sunday, the Phillies have changed Games 2 and 3. They will now be played on Tuesday night (7:05 p.m.), April 7, and Wednesday afternoon (3:05 p.m.), April 8.
