Todd's computer calls in sick

POSTED: Sunday, September 7, 2008, 3:43 PM
Hey folks,

Todd just emailed me with news that he won't be able to post any updates from this afternoon's Phillies-Mets doubleheader in Queens because of computer problems.

But if it's any consolation, you can join me for a live chat during tonight's second game. Click here to join the party.

We can only hope that one of Shea Stadium's famous wild animals didn't eat Todd's power cord.

You know, like this one...

This is it boys and girls. A chance to draw even with the Mets. Hopefully Hamels matches Moyer's effort and we can get to Santana. Dead even with 19 games to play sounds great to me. Time to make it happen. GO PHILS!

Once again, Moyer "Man's Up." Mets are beginning to feel it slip away-keep the pressure on and let the slobs (Met Fans) boo their sqaud tonight on National TV. Do you see these people eat?? Yikes! Advice to all Mets fans: Chew with your mouth closed! I don't want to see what you are eating. And, can you cool it with the Salsa music between innings? Geeze, I feel like I am watching Telemundo!

As I said last thread.... Folks, this is it. Today's the season. 2 down with 19 to go is hell on skates. We're bringing our sheriff and they're bringing theirs. Hard to say much else besides Go Phils.

There's a time when the manager getting tossed fires up the team. And there's a time when it screws up the rhythm and leaves the team scratching their heads. Guess which one Charlie's ejection falss under. It seemed almost like he intended to get thrown out right from the start. I don't get it. That couldn't have helped Hamels out on the mound. Crappy call at 3rd, but the Phils have to settle down and get serious. (Just saw Chase blow the play at 2nd. That wasn't what I had in mind.)

Who'd thought that Hamels would be the pitcher that would struggle so early?? Bad call at 3rd and Chase's error didn't help (even though it's rare he makes one). Phils better do "the hustle". Hate to see games 1&2 kinda go to waste(even though coming out of NY w/2 out 3 isnt too bad)

Santana just left and the Phils do still have a good shot in this game. Ryan Howard's AB is going to be huge. Two things we learned tonight: 1- Johan Santana is for real (not that there was really any question), and 2- Brett Myers is currently the ace of the Phillies staff. Can you believe that?? (Well, I can't knock Howard for the night, but tough to see him ground out there. Pat, are you still alive... ?)

Well, tough loss- we didn't get what we wanted out of the weekend, a sweep, but we got what we needed- we're still alive. No letdowns tomorrow night agains the Fish. GO PHILS!!!!!

Hey Schmidt...YOU may think that the Fillies are better than the Mets, but the results prove what we already knew...you're not the brightest light on the tree ....Season series: Mets 11 Fillies 7.

Funny, I didn't see any popping off from 'The Lizard' earlier today or Friday night. Go figure.

Actually, with the Mets playing the Nats and Braves while the Phils play the Fins and Brewers, the Phils' best chance might be for the Wild Card. The Brewers are struggling and the Mets are not going to fold with Santana and Perez pitching so well.

The Wizard's back! Is your shift at Taco Bell done early tonight? One of the things we Phillies fans know, Wiz, is that the season is 162 games long- I once heard of a team that lost a seven game division lead with 17 games left to play so a two game lead with 19 left isn't that awful. Run along now, we don't want you staying up too late, your GED classes start early on Monday.
