Shortstop Jimmy Rollins did not start the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Florida Marlins and he's batting fifth in the second game.
Rollins is in a prolonged slump after entering the Phillies' 7-1 first-game loss as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning, he was hitless in two at-bats, lowering his average to .236. He is just 4-for-32 (.125) in his last eight games.
"I see his swing comes and goes," manager Charlie Manuel said. "He has a good night and then he has two or three nights where he doesn’t hit the ball real good. He has been inconsistent. That’s kind of what I see."
Shane Victorino will bat leadoff in Game 2.
