Source: Phils will visit Fenway, Yankee Stadium, Toronto in 2010

Not that you were thinking about this on an August night after the Phils swept the Cubbies and Beergate continues to rivet the nation, but I thought it was of interest nonetheless. Though the official 2010 Major League Baseball schedule will not be released until leater this season, I’m hearing from a baseball source that a tentative schedule for next year has the Phillies playing interleague series in New York’s Yankee Stadium, Boston’s Fenway Park and Toronto’s Rogers Centre. The Phils will host the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians and likely one other American League team at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies are slated to open the season on the road in Washington, DC, against the Nationals, the source said. The team will play just seven home games in April and will also close the regular season on the road. The schedule is still subject to change before MLB releases it to the public.

We could see three of the four players we traded for Lee if the Indians come here.

Perhaps a weekend summertime series against the Pirates please! Awesome road trip city, plenty of good, cheap seats.

That means the Mets will probably play three games against the Royals, Indians, Twins and Orioles each (the bottom of the barrel while the Phillies play better teams) in an attempt to level the playing field. Don't forget the Lee versus Halladay match-up next June in Toronto. I think the players enjoy playing at Fenway and Yankee Stadium.

I was hoping we'd go to Minnesota since they are playing in a new stadium next year.

PhillySports, we play Toronto every year because when the Expos moved to DC, they became Baltimore's natural rival, leaving us Toronto.

Opening the season in DC might as well be a home opener, can't wait to see the Phils down here as back to back champions.

Maybe that home schedule is the cost for the Phillies to grab an All-Star Game within the next 50 years...get on it Monty!
