Sheff to Phils cooked: slugger signs with Mets

The deed is done.  Now you will boo instead of cheering the man.

Updated 2:45 p.m.: According to a report by the usually reliable Joel Sherman of the New York Post, Gary Sheffield seems close to agreeing to join the Mets.  As I said earlier, a good fit for both parties. 

If this goes through, I guess he goes from the guy you would've hated to love to the guy you'll love to hate. Funny how a uniform can influence one's perspective on an individual...

According to a report by the usually reliable Joel Sherman of the New York Post, Gary Sheffield seems close to agreeing to join the Mets.  As I said earlier, a good fit for both parties.
