CLEARWATER, Fla. — Sebastian Valle, a Phillies catching prospect, suffered the first (albeit minor) injury of camp. Valle has a small fracture on his right (throwing) ring finger, Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said.

The injury did not restrict Valle from participating in drills Tuesday.

Valle, 22, is a candidate to make Mexico's roster for the World Baseball Classic. The teams must be formally announced Wednesday. Amaro said Valle could participate in that, if selected.

Pitcher Rodrigo Lopez is also likely to be on Mexico's roster.
