Charlie Manuel's lineup was not posted on the clubhouse board until about an hour before game time. That's because the Phillies manager was waiting to hear the status of his catcher, Carlos Ruiz, who took a foul ball in a not-so-happy spot during Tuesday's sixth inning.

Ruiz had his groin area -- or "family jewels" as Manuel called it -- examined by a doctor. General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said Ruiz was officially diagnosed with a left testicle contusion. He should miss only a day or two. Not that that helps ease the pain.

Brian Schneider is starting in Ruiz's place.

"I didn't check him out," Manuel said, with a laugh. More giggling followed.

4. Ryan Howard 3
5. Hunter Pence 9
6. John Mayberry Jr. 7
7. Wilson Valdez 5

9. Cliff Lee 1
