Ross over Ruiz?

Fox's Ken Rosenthal reports that the Phillies have shown interested in Reds catcher David Ross, who the Reds released yesterday.

Ross hit .231 with a .381 on-base percentage this season.

Carlos Ruiz is hitting .220 with a .322 on-base percentage.

Charlie Manuel has been dying for more more production from the bottom of his lineup. Ross wouldn't provide a huge boost, but he at least would get on base more often than Ruiz and provide Jimmy Rollins a few more RBI opportunities at the top of the lineup.
