The posting of the lineup inside the Phillies’ clubhouse rarely produces good theater, but Sunday morning was different.

After manager Charlie Manuel talked to the ailing first baseman Ryan Howard, he handed the lineup card to catching coach Mick Billmeyer, the man who prints the names with a sharpie marker on a board near the clubhouse entrance.

Billmeyer wrote in the first eight names and shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who did not start Saturday because of a sore right foot, was not among them. Before Billmeyer could add pitcher Cliff Lee’s name to the board, Rollins walked up and erased the entire lineup.

Should the Phillies shut down Ryan Howard until his sore knee improves?

A few minutes later, Billmeyer resurfaced with a new card and this time Rollins was included.

Kevin Frandsen had been in the original lineup at third base with Galvis playing shortstop.
