Phils confirm Brody Colvin signing
Hours before the 11:59pm signing deadline for this year's draft picks, a report from Louisiana's 2theadvocate.com, among other reports from Lousiana, says that the Phillies have agreed to a deal with highly-regarded righthanded pitcher Brody Colvin. Colvin slipped to the seventh round because of a commitment to play at LSU. Colvin participated in a workout at Citizens Bank Park this week. A Phillies official could not confirm this for the Inquirer a few minutes ago.

Hopefully he becomes an "untouchable" when we try and trade for an ACE pitcher in a few years at the trading deadline!!!! ed chew
Can we make him the closer? fafafooey
How does he feel about dogs, Irish bars, Wheels and Philly10 ? We need answers !!! mick314
mick314... I am a fan of your comments. Can we please stay on topic and talk about murphy's fonzie jacket? We are so easily distracted. BudSelig_isthenext_MrBurns
ed chew - are you honestly still upset over them not getting Halladay? fiveforone
We got Lee with a five finger discount...how can anyone be upset over Halladay still? MFPhils

Nice work Phils! JimG
Since when did the Phillies actually do anything right? This is so distorted......Where's Rod Sterling, have we entered the Twilight Zone? therefump
"Colvin was on campus Monday and went through freshman orientation, Mainieri said, but a last-day signing bonus offer of $900,000 from the Philadelphia Phillies lured him away." jjenkins
my sentiments exactly therefump. since when did the phillies go from being a laughingstock organization (for pretty much their entire history) to doing everything right. this was a huge signing. highest pitcher they drafted (they love their outfielders) so to get a guy with 1st round talent that late is awesome. kudos to dave, ruben, and the rest, i'm really proud to be a phillies fan right now. (not so much an eagles fan though) kappadonna
