Phillies vs. Phillies: For all the marbles

POSTED: Friday, February 22, 2013, 8:51 AM

CLEARWATER, Fla. — There is baseball Friday at Bright House Field. Well, sort of.

The Phillies will face the Phillies in an intrasquad game at noon. They will not play nine innings; probably more like five. Charlie Manuel will not manage. Those responsibilities fall to third-base coach Ryne Sandberg and triple-A manager Dave Brundage.

Almost every regular will play in the scrimmage. Catcher Erik Kratz is not. He caught a bullpen session this morning and will start Saturday's Grapefruit League opener.

The intrasquad game is open to the public and admission is free. They are expecting a raucous crowd.

The lineups:

Team Brundage
1. Ben Revere 8
2. Freddy Galvis 6
3. Michael Young 5
4. Chase Utley 4
5. Darin Ruf 7
6. Domonic Brown 9
7. Carlos Ruiz 2
8. Josh Fields 3
9. Joe Mather 0

Pitchers: Adam Morgan, Ethan Martin, Cesar Jimenez

Team Sandberg
1. Jimmy Rollins 6
2. Tyson Gillies 8
3. John Mayberry Jr. 7
4. Ryan Howard 3
5. Laynce Nix 9
6. Kevin Frandsen 4
7. Cody Asche 5
8. Tommy Joseph 2
9. Derrick Mitchell 0

Pitchers: Jonathan Pettibone, Mauricio Robles, Kyle Simon, Justin Friend

We'll have updates on the action later.
