The Phillies have activated righthander Joe Blanton, who had been on the disabled list since May 23 with elbow inflammation. Blanton was on the 60-day DL.

Blanton made one rehab appearance with Single-A Lakewood on Sept. 2 and pitvhed one scoreless inning. He is 1-2 with a 5.50 ERA in six starts for the Phillies.

Also, righthander Kyle Kendrick has been reinstated from the paternity leave list. Kendrick and his wife recently had their first child, a daughter.
