Pence expected to return this weekend

POSTED: Wednesday, September 21, 2011, 5:50 PM

Who will win the NL Cy Young Award?
Cliff Lee
Roy Halladay
Clayton Kershaw
Ian Kennedy

Rightfielder Hunter Pence was diagnosed with a mild strain of the patella tendon in his left knee and is expected to return during the weekend series against the Mets at Citi Field.

Pence had an MRI Wednesday. He has patella tendonitis and apparently aggravated the condition during Tuesday's first game of a day-night doubleheader against Washington.

"I feel good," Pence said. "I never really thought we needed an MRI. But it feels good. It is what it is."

Pence said he's had the same injury in the past. "The thing is, I can play on it," he said. "But it's not going to get better. The idea is to have me a little stronger. I like to be in there playing."

He's VERY important to this offense. Rest up Hunter...bigger games await

ugh. the offense needs something. If I have to see J-Pop or victorino swing at the first two pitches and make outs with the bases loaded again, it'll be way to soon.

I hope the Phillies are favored in the first three post season games. I am headed to Vegas to make akilling betting against them and betting the under. I only have to hope the Cardinals or Diamondbacks don't beat them too. A sweep is inevitable. Imagine, they can't score on or beat the Nationals. They shoud hang their heads in outright shamefor their performance in this series. They better start thinking about next year now, because they only have 10 games left in 2011.

The team is in such a funk that if they do get it together, with hitting,it will enact the Second Coming.
