MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- With six games and seven days until the All-Star break, time was already short for Ryan Madson to return to the Phillies. And given the fact he has yet to throw off a mound since June 18, the team has ruled out anything happening soon.

"I don't know when he'll be on the mound," Rich Dubee said.

The pitching coach then said he hopes Madson can throw a bullpen session before the break. Either way, his bruised right hand will keep him out of action for almost a month.

There has been progress, Dubee said. That has come in the form of long tossing Saturday and Sunday. Madson played catch again Monday.

The closer has declined multiple times to discuss his injury, which occurred May 20.

VICTORINO OUT. Add Shane Victorino to the walking wounded. He was not in Charlie Manuel's lineup and unavailable to hit Monday because of a swollen right thumb. Victorino injured it during his "embarrassing" stumble on the Rogers Centre turf Sunday.

BLANTON THROWS. Joe Blanton (right elbow) threw a bullpen session Monday in Clearwater, Fla. It was the first time since May 19 that Blanton threw off a mound.

"He was fine," Dubee said.

The lineup:

1. Jimmy Rollins 6

3. Chase Utley 4
4. Ryan Howard 3
5. Raul Ibanez 7
6. Domonic Brown 9
7. Brian Schneider 2
8. Michael Martinez 8
9. Vance Worley 1
