Lidge: 'I'm Ready'

POSTED: Monday, August 11, 2008, 10:24 PM

Brad Lidge said he is ready to pitch.

“I’m going to be ready to throw,” he said before tonight's game against the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. “It’s up to them right now. If they don’t call down (to the bullpen), they don’t call down, but I’m ready.”

Lidge, who hasn't pitched since Friday because of stiffness, soreness and inflammation in his shoulder, long tossed before the game, and came out OK. That said, it's not 100 percent he will pitch, even if they need him.

I want Lidge to be healthy, but we wont need him if they NEVER SCORE and take the lead! Pittsburg has the worst ERA in the NL, and they barely scored against them, thats not good!

2nd and 3rd no one out by 6 runs. How the heck do they not get both runners home? I really hop Manuel embarasses Burrell after the gm. Its simply pathetic.

No need to use Lidge tonight unless they score more runs then they have in about a week! With the Mets and Marlins having already lost, I expected to see a little more heart. http://myteamrivals.typepad.com/phightin_phils_phorum/

I think Lidge, Romero, Durbin and Madson all can have the night off- no need to waste those arms on a night we're gonna get blown out. Tonight is the Les Walrond and Scott Eyre show. A loss is a loss, whether by one run or 20- let's save the bullets in the gun for another day.

Well.......We did battle back. But the damage was done. That stupid balk call against Kendrick totally messed with his head. We played some great defense. IBB's to load the bases a couple of times, and still got out of the innings. Chase had a good game. 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 rbi's. His first double came *this close* to being a HR! He plays as good against his home town as Howard plays against his.

Utley has been hitting .262 since MAY 1st, so whatever is going on with him is not a recent phenomenon.
