In case you don’t follow the beat tweets, Ruben Amaro said after the game that both Brad Lidge and the team were happy with Lidge’s outing for single-A Clearwater. Lidge pitched a scoreless inning and threw eight fastballs, four sliders. A decision will be made in the AM about whether Lidge will make another rehab appearance or be activated.

Here’s a good Manuel quote for you. He was describing his team during the World Series run: “There was that feeling, that glitter, that glow, that camaraderie.”

so does this mean lidge comes back soon? he was eligible to come off the DL today, if they liked the results then he should seemingly come off the DL in the next day or two hopefully.

It's a amazing how night and day the home/road thing is... i still chalk it up to coincidence but geez only 1 more homestand and we are at the break... i'm confident they will turn it around at home... it is weird that every off day i see them on comcast doing something for charity... stop being so nice! concentrate on baeball... J-Roll is starting to irritate me in the leadoff role... bat him 6th or even 9th in the AL park... and is Lidge available tonite?

Who will the Phillies acquire? Any chance of picking up Harang from the Reds and Takashi Saito from the Red Sox? That gives us two more good arms for the rotation/bullpen

Need teams like Reds, Seattle, Houston, Toronto to start losing ground so they will dump salary... as long as these teams think they are in teh race they are not going to dump big name pitcher

How bout Jimmy loafing it around third with Victorino right on his heels last night. Jimmy is too cool to hustle anymore I guess. And fans stop wearing your 2008 World Series gear from head to tow to every home game and maybe the record will improve.

With the top minor league prospects Donald and Galvis on the DL and Bruntlett not hitting his weight, Jimmy knows they have no alternative at SS except him.

kse the reason he was loafing it is because on utley's hit he knew he was able to score easily from second, but shane had to hustle to score from first..

"And fans stop wearing your 2008 World Series gear from head to tow to every home game and maybe the record will improve."....Clearly, the little kid wearing a Phillies World Series hat in the 300 level is why the Phillies are losing. Another whiny liberal trying to tell people how they have to dress, act, etc. Always blaming someone else when there's a problem instead of taking personal responsibility. Typical.

Agreed... no content but at least it's not plagerized material from murphy. It's a positive step in a negative direction.

mikemike--I'm not the one arguing that a fan wearing a World Series t-shirt to a baseball game is the root cause of the team losing a game. So that would make me the the second dumbest person on this blog, at most. But you keep tossing insults from behind your keyboard if it makes you feel like a man.

About Matt Gelb and Bob Brookover

Bob Brookover and Matt Gelb team up for their third straight season covering the Phillies for the Inquirer and philly.com.

This is Brookover’s second stint writing about the Phillies, having joined the coverage team after seven years as an Eagles beat writer. Brookover was hired by The Inquirer in 2000 as the Phillies beat writer after spending 13 years writing about the team for two suburban newspapers. While on the Eagles beat, Brookover, who had covered just two winning Phillies teams in 15 seasons, saw the Phillies move into a cash-cow new ballpark and begin playing a brand of the game he found unrecognizable. Gelb is in his third season covering the Phillies. He was hired by The Inquirer in August 2009 after graduating from Syracuse University. He has also covered baseball at The Star-Ledger and Cape Cod Times. Born and raised in Bucks County, he attended Central Bucks High School West. Follow him on Twitter here.
