I appreciate someone who learns from their mistakes. Good move Ruben.

That'll boost the old confidence, huh? We still believe in you, Kyle, just keep working on your secondary pitches. Think he knows he's got basically no shot at making it back to the majors with the Phils?

What a way to ruin a kid's career... he was never meant to be a starter...wrong to bring him up for that role in the first place....

What was the rationale for either move (to bring him up, then send him down after a day)?

DCExpat........The Phils wanted a guy who could throw multiple innings out of the pen because of a worn out bullpen (extra inning games against the Mets) and having Bastardo (who is getting beaten up as I type this) and Happ pitching against the Red Sox. That's why they chose to bring up Kendrick instead of Escalona. Kendrick is being sent down because plan A didn't work out very well. Kendrick got knocked around last night, obviously to the point where the Phils don't plan on using him again. Thus, Kendrick is sent down and Escalona is called up (which was the right move and should have been made in the first place).

The Bastardo myth is being debunked in the first innning vs. the Sox. The trade whispers are going to become shouts after this weekend.
