Todd Zolecki
The Phillies placed rightfielder Geoff Jenkins on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hip flexor. To take his place on the 25-man roster, the Phillies purchased the contract of infielder Andy Tracy from triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Jenkins was hitting .246 with nine homers and 29 RBIs in 284 at-bats.
Tracy, who hits lefthanded, was hitting .288 with 21 home runs and 84 RBIs for the IronPigs. He hit .224 with 13 homers and 41 RBIs in 263 at-bats in parts of three seasons with the Montreal Expos and Colorado Rockies. He hasn't been in the majors since the end of the 2004 season with the Rockies.

- OK, here's an idea... Ryan Howard, you're fired. bobby
- Pedro Feliz, you are THE MAN. bobby
WAHOO!!!! WAHOO!!!! WAHOO!!!! Nothing like a walk-off HR in extra innings!!!!! Not great offense, but great defense! Didn't the Dodgers have something like 14 hits? And only scored 2 runs. Like I've said, guys.....The Phils almost always win when I'm at the game. Donations for season tickets for next year, gladly accepted. LOL! Norma
jimmymack......Where where you????? Norma
Truth ??? How can you defend Rollins and Howard ??? If I were a betting man, which I am , I think you have a personal agenda that goes beyond the diamond.. This is about baseball ! ! So lets not go there... You feel me ? Great win Phils, that Victorino has become the spark-plug for this team.. Howard and Rollins along with other core players are needed if we are to go to the next level (championship) .. pat h
The Rollins situation is sad, but I can't say it surprises me. He was always cocky and stubborn. How many years was he impatient at the plate as a leadoff hitter, swinging at the first pitch, and refused to listen to any advice. He was a hero for predicting we'd win it all last year, becuase he was right. If they flopped it would have been seen as a really stupid comment that motivated the Mets. I give Charlie a lot of credit for supporting his players. Jimmy should be burried down in the lineup with Victorino leading off right now. There is no justification for Jimmy leading off given his performance over the past few weeks: it's killing us and him! He needs a break from all the pressure, but that's not going to happen. cartoong98
Pat h.....Truth is Rollins, don't you get it... his defense of Howard makes complete sense....it's a shame they both have been disappreciated so much.....lol,lol,lol Mark1npt

Norma & Jimmymack....You guys didn't meet up? Was anybody else there? I am so glad I didn't go. It would have been great to be there for the walk off win, but a 12:30am finish + a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive + 2 kids=a very long night......How about Feliz? That's some night for a late inning defensive replacement, huh? bski
Pat H....Agree about Victorino. Really heads up to spot Ramirez fielding that ball a bit too routinely and assuming he wouldn't even be thinking 2nd base. Also, you're dead on about Rollins (0-5) and Howard (0-4). They both looked miserable. Plus, Howard had to ruin the positive mojo from what would have to be the greatest defensive play he has ever made by getting picked off first. Where was his head exactly? No, don't tell me. bski
Shocking stat of the night : JimmyMack was a no show! (Was he in Reading hanging out with Eaton ?) mick314
NOW can we trade for Brian Giles???? Steve5877
Sorry Norma, I got hung up on 95, accident in Chester. I got to statue at 7:45, asked a few woman if they were you (boy, did I get some strange looks....LOL). My bad, I'm sorry. jimmymack
jimmymack......We JUST missed each other! I left the statue at 7:45! Bummer! I'll be at tomorrow's game, plus 9/10, 9/13, and 9/28. Hoping to get another game in during the week of 9/22-9/27. Anyone up to meeting at any of those games? Norma
I have much preferred Werth all season and still can not figure out why he isn't the full-time starter by now. Jenkins has been a huge disappointment this season. So, let's compare stats. BATTING AVERAGE Werth: .266 Jenkins: .246 RUNS SCORED Werth: 48 Jenkins: 27 HOME RUNS Werth: 17 Jenkins: 9 RUNS BATTED IN Werth: 48 Jenkins: 29 STOLEN BASES Werth: 12 Jenkins: 1 ON-BASE PLUS SLUGGING Werth: .844 Jenkins: .698 Come on, Charlie! Are you kidding me? philly_ies
