TAMPA, Fla. -- Welcome to George M. Steinbrenner Field, where the Phillies and Yankees will open their Grapefruit League schedules this afternoon.

Once again, the Phillies will play without their starting middle infield. Jimmy Rollins was somewhat delayed in his return from Washington, so he will not start as originally planned. Chase Utley, who is going through "general body soreness" is also out of the lineup.

We won't overreact about Utley yet, but it's something to watch.

The Yankees are going with most of their regulars -- it'll be a good early test for Cole Hamels and Vance Worley, who is first out of the bullpen.

The lineups:

Phillies
1. Pete (Bobby) Orr 2B
2. Ross Gload DH
3. Raul Ibanez LF
4. Ryan Howard 1B
5. Ben Francisco CF
6. Domonic Brown RF
7. Jeff Larish 3B
8. Brian Schneider C
9. Wilson Valdez SS
Cole Hamels P

Yankees
1. Derek Jeter SS
2. Nick Swisher RF
3. Mark Teixeira 1B
4. Alex Rodriguez 3B
5. Robinson Cano 2B
6. Jorge Posada DH
7. Curtis Granderson CF
8. Francisco Cervelli C
9. Brett Gardner LF
Bartolo Colon P

The game will be broadcast on MLB Network, which will use the YES feed. It's also on radio (1210), with Scott Franzke and Larry Andersen on the call.

Durbin signs with Cleveland. Chad Durbin took the guaranteed deal with a non-contending team instead of a minor-league deal with a contending one, like the Phillies. ESPN.com reported late Friday night that Durbin agreed to a one-year, $800,000 deal with the Indians. Incentives could push it to $1.8 million.

It still represents a paycut from 2010, when he made $2.125 million with the Phillies.

My take on this Rollins/Utley stuff is that the Phillies better start checking around the farm systems in search of some middle-infield prospects. I have no idea whether there is more to either story than they are willing to admit, but I'm concerned the either or both could start to break down in the near future....Utley may have already started......I hope not.

Durbin to Cleveland for $800k. Heck, the Phillies could have paid him that out of their minor league budget. They really must not have wanted him back and, obviously, there was no one willing to sign Durbin to anything resembling what he wanted since he wanted a raise and maybe two years guaranteed.

If Rollins places music above baseball, it is time for him to go.

When Utley plays every day, people complain that he is going to break down because of his intense play. Do you think that Cholly might be sitting him to give him a delayed start to make his season "shorter?" I haven't heard that he isn't practicing, so I don't see why this is such a big deal. Calm down! Also, stop worrying about the future and enjoy the special year we should have. How long have we all waited for a team like this? Enjoy it!!!

Boy the trolls are out today. Do us all a favor and go follow the Mets or some other loser team. You'll fit right in.
