Ibanez scratched

WASHINGTON -- Charlie Manuel's original lineup for Sunday's series finale here against the Nationals had Raul Ibanez batting second and playing leftfield. But once Ibanez arrived at Nationals Park this morning, he told the manager he couldn't go.

Ibanez has a sore left wrist after making a failed diving attempt to catch a blooper in the first inning of Saturday's loss. He was given an X-Ray after the game Saturday and it turned up negative. Still, Ibanez iced the wrist and thumb this morning and will sit out.

"It'll be all right," Ibanez said.

With an off day Monday before the series in Florida begins Tuesday, Manuel can give Ibanez two days in a row to rest the injury.

Domonic Brown was originally scheduled for a day off against another lefthanded pitcher, John Lannan, but with Ibanez down, Ben Francisco shifts to leftfield and Brown is inserted into right, batting sixth.

The full lineup:

1. Jimmy Rollins SS
2. Placido Polanco 3B
3. Jayson Werth CF
4. Ryan Howard 1B
5. Ben Francisco LF
6. Domonic Brown RF
7. Carlos Ruiz C
8. Wilson Valdez 2B
9. Cole Hamels P
