The Phillies placed Cole Hamels on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, but it's not a huge deal. The team says he will start Monday in Cincinnati.
The move is retroactive to Aug. 13, so Hamels is eligible to return Sunday from minor shoulder inflammation. He will do just that, apparently.
For now, infielder Pete Orr was recalled to fill Hamels' spot because of a short bench.
Hamels tossed a light bullpen session Saturday in Washington and "came out fine" after that, pitching coach Rich Dubee said. The pitcher was originally scheduled for a bullpen session Tuesday and a start Friday.
It appears there won't be much of a setback with regards to those dates.
The move also allows Roy Oswalt and Roy Halladay to pitch closer to their regular routines. All of the off days and rainouts had stretched the rotation out. Oswalt will start Friday, Halladay on Saturday and Lee on Sunday -- each still with extra rest.
