So how much faith do you have in Joe Blanton?

Because he's all that stands between a trip to the National League Championship Series and CC Sabathia on full rest in Game 5 Tuesday. The Phillies lost last night to the Brewers in Game 3 of the NLDS, 4-1, to force Game 4, which begins in about an hour. Phil Sheridan tells us about the situation the Phillies find themselves in. They go from their sure thing in Jamie Moyer in Game 3 to an uncertainty in Blanton in Game 4. Bob Ford is correct when he said the Phillies didn't take advantage of their opportunities.

Here's the Brewers lineup: 1. Mike Cameron, CF; 2. Ray Durham, 2B; 3. Ryan Braun, LF; 4. Prince Fielder, 1B; 5. J.J. Hardy, SS; 6.Corey Hart, RF; Craig Counsell, 3B; Jason Kendall, C; Jeff Suppan, P.

You expected Moyer to pitch a gem to clinch, didn't you? He didn't. He struggled in the first inning. He fell behind in the count too often. It cost him.

In the Phillies Notebook: Chase Utley, Ryan Howard and Pat Burrell are hitting a combined .143 (4 for 28) with two doubles, three RBIs, seven walks, and seven strikeouts in the first three games of the NLDS. They have hit a combined .177 (11 for 62) with one double, two home runs, five RBIs, 11 walks, and 12 strikeouts in their postseason careers.

Contestoga High School graduate Dave Bush sticks it to the Phillies. In the Brewers Notebook: the Brewers remained patient with Moyer, and Jeff Suppan takes the mound this afternoon.
