Jeff Manship continued to make a strong impression with two scoreless innings. He is not a hard thrower and has a 6.42 career ERA. Ryne Sandberg said Manship could factor into the bullpen picture, but the Phillies are likely to keep him as a starter at triple A.

Sandberg was critical for Lou Marson missing a tag at home plate in the calamitous seventh inning. The new collision rule may factored in Marson's mistake. "We've covered it," Sandberg said. "Covered it five, six times. We covered it for two weeks. ... That wasn't a good play."

"That's two days in the row he's hit a couple of vicious, vicious line drives," Sandberg said of top prospect Maikel Franco, who was 2 for 4.
