Grapefruit Wrap: Blue Jays 4, Phillies 3

Ryan Howard batted with runners at first and second in the first inning and rapped the first J.A. Happ pitch into left-center for a run-scoring single. "I really liked Howard's aggressiveness early in the count," manager Ryne Sandberg said.

The excitement about Phillippe Aumont's renewed approach lasted less than one game. Aumont walked the first two batters he faced in the third inning. He threw a wild pitch. Toronto scored twice.

"Trying too hard maybe," pitching coach Bob McClure said. "Trying to make the team on the first day. We'll just leave it at that right now. Hopefully it's not something that continues through spring."
