CLEARWATER, Fla. — It's a split-squad Sunday for the Phillies, their lone such day of this lengthy spring. Charlie Manuel will manage a team of mostly regulars in Clearwater while Ryne Sandberg will take a group south to face Baltimore in Sarasota.

Darin Ruf is back in left field after a two-day absence from the field. Ryan Howard is starting his ninth game in nine days.

Only 29 days until opening day. With morning temperatures in the low 40s here in Florida, it feels much further away.
