As the Phillies return home for a six-game homestand, they have added two players to the roster. Ross Gload was activated from the disabled list and Greg Dobbs' contract was purchased.
The active roster sits at 28, with more additions likely to come when the triple-A season ends Monday.
Gload played two rehab games for single-A Clearwater the last two days and went 1 for 8. He was placed on the DL with a right groin strain retroactive to Aug. 19.
Dobbs, who was designated for assignment twice this season, returns in what will likely be his final month as a Phillie. He batted .210 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 16 games with Lehigh Valley. In his last six games, he hit .391 with two home runs and eight RBIs.
