POSTED: Friday, July 20, 2012, 3:30 PM

Following a 4-2 road trip that began the post-all-star segment of the schedule, the Phillies return for six games at Citizens Bank Park that could determine whether they will be sellers or buyers by the July 31 trade deadline.

Here is tonight’s lineup for the opening of a weekend series with the San Francisco Giants.

2. Shane Victorino, CF
3. Chase Utley, 2B
4. Ryan Howard, 1B
5. Carlos Ruiz, C

sorry to say this, because I don't actually enjoy Phils suffering but the last time Mr. Season-destroyer Papelbon turned a big win into a devastating loss, it was the beginning of another 5-game losing streak...

"Thin Tim" Lincecum can't pitch in the heat/humidity. Also lost his competitive edge since signing his most recent contract. It will definitely be a big night for Philly offense in Game 1 of this series.

How about you and the headline guys no longer talk about playoffs until they reach .500?

How can the best athlete on the team, Cliff Lee, play for this conglomeration. He pitches a beautiful game with the usual support. Cholly was a hitting coach? Say what, where is Charlie Lau, hire George Brett, Rod Carew someone who knows how to hit. Tony Gwynn would be excellent. Convert Rollins and Victorino from warning track sluggers to on base machines. Gwynn might get Howard to get above the Mendoza line but I doubt it. Put Cliff near the top of the lineup to get him more at bats.

What a joy it is to read the same old drivel from you guys, day after day (except for Humidor 2000 - keep it coming, dude!). Is this how you get over getting beat up on the playground when you were kids? You IMAGINE you are the tough guy, getting even with all those punks. I am not impressed.

toubibcal - did you really just say put cliff lee at the top of the line... for the purpose of AT BATS??? since when do lineups revolve around getting ABs for a pitcher? that's absurd.

Mayberry isn't playing. Hurrah! Now if we can only drop him from the bench.

Please stop insulting your fans talking about the playoffs.Like the famous football ad says,"Playoffs! What Playoffs!" I don't think that the playoffs are in the cards for a team that needs at least five new starting regulars& a whole new bullpen.Maybe in 2015???
